About me
Hi there! I'm an Assistant Professor at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University. Before moving to the Buckeye state, I was an Assistant Professor at the Texas A&M University George Bush School of Government & Public Service. My research examines public management, bureaucratic politics, administrative errors, and policy preferences, with a focus on how organizations respond to complexity, criticism, and political pressures. My work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Politics, Journal of Public Administration Research & Theory, Public Management Review, and Administration & Society. A co-authored article on administrative errors and race received the 2024 Best Journal Article Award from the Academy of Management’s Public and Nonprofit Division, and I am also co-editor of Great Policy Successes (Oxford University Press, 2019). At Ohio State, I teach courses in public policy and management, drawing on my prior faculty experience at Texas A&M University and postdoctoral research at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my dog Ella, cooking with my partner, practicing yoga, and taking cross-country road trips.
